but the problem is, i have put so much time and work into it (3-4 years worht to be exact) that im a little paranoid that someone might steal it and not give me credit for it, so what should i do?

Hmm, pretty hard to say since I really don't write stories. Umm..maybe if you like got the rough drafts for it, you will have proof you wrote it. Sorry, I am really not that helpful >_<
